The Honeywell Aerospace (Lycoming) T53 engine is the world’s first helicopter turboshaft engine. The T53 is in wide use today.
Aviation applications include: AH-1 Cobra, Bell 204/205, Kaman K-MAX, and the UH-1 Huey. Non-aviation applications include power generation, boat racing, and tractor pulling.
